Jonathan Karcher was stopped on Sept. 25, 2023 on Welsh Road in Lower Moreland by an officer who watched him violate multiple traffic rules, and noticed he had a tinted plate rendering it unreadable, the LMPD said.
In a traffic stop, officers determined Karcher's tags were fake, and he admitted to buying them off Facebook Marketplace, police said. Karcher could not provide officers with insurance, registration, or proof of ownership and was driving with a suspended driver's license, according to police.
Karcher's vehicle also had fraudulent inspection stickers. Further investigation found Karcher had numerous items of paraphernalia and numerous drugs in the vehicle. Scales and money were also found, along with two firearms stolen out of Philadelphia, police said.
Karcher is listed as a felon not to possess and was previously convicted of this same violation in 2019, making this case a first degree felony.
Karcher is wanted on a litany of charges including person not to possess firearms, receiving stolen property, multiple drug offenses, and more.
